Song Meaning

Lindy & The Circuit Riders recorded “Another Wave” as a prophetic call to revival. It opens in the voice of God, “Ready or not, here I come. Nations will be swept up, souls will be won,” and goes on, “I've heard My people cry, someone come save us.” The earth shakes, the sound is released, and the refrain tells listeners to get ready.

The chorus gives the song its name: “Here comes another wave of revival. Can you feel the earth shaking? The time has now begun.” The next section uses stronger images of the movement it expects. “Tsunamis of revival now are crashing on the shores, a movement of Your Spirit like we've never seen before.” It concludes that “every eye will look and see the glory of the coming of the Lord.” The ending turns into a command to the congregation to lift a shout and raise their voice to Jesus. The repeated phrases and driving rhythm make it a song for an expectant gathering that wants to pray for a move of God in its city, and it speaks of that hope with confidence.

Every eye seeing the Lord's glory is Isaiah 40:5. The earth filled with the knowledge of that glory is Habakkuk 2:14, and the place shaken as they prayed is Acts 4:31.

Ready or not here I come

Nations will be swept up, souls will be won

I've heard My people cry, "Someone come save us"

Ready or not here I come

Nations will be swept up, souls will be won

Heard My people cry, "Someone come save us"

The earth is shaking

The sound releasing

Revival's coming

Get ready, get ready

The earth is shaking

The sound releasing

Revival's coming

Get ready, get ready

Here comes another wave

Of revival

Can you feel the earth shaking?

The time has now begun

Here comes another wave
