My Soul Sings

Creation comes first here: “From the void / Your words rang forth,” the earth is formed and life is born, in the manner of God speaking light into being in Genesis 1:3. The second verse moves straight to rupture, admitting that God knew sin would “tear us apart” and “break Your heart,” and that He would redeem anyway.

The chorus is the song’s reply, a soul that “sings / For my eyes see / Your beauty on display” and then sings again, “responding / To the wonder of Your love / At work inside of me.” The third verse names the cost plainly: “We were powerless / But You died for us.” A cup is drunk, and the verdict is “It was enough, it’s still enough.”

A bridge widens the portrait to “Infinite God, intimate friend,” whose love “endures, it never ends.” The movement from the void to a singing heart lines up with Psalm 19:1, where creation declares the glory of God, and with Romans 5:8, Christ dying for us while we were still sinners.
