Unity in The Spirit

New Wine Worship builds this song almost entirely out of one repeated claim rather than a developing story — "we're united in the Spirit, we are One with the Spirit." The repetition isn't filler; it's the point, said until it stops sounding like a wish and starts sounding like a description.

The later sections widen the claim outward — "all the nations of the earth, united we become one" — tying personal worship to something global rather than private. The song names what it's actually asking for too: "a sound from Heaven," a "wave of revival," treated as something already approaching rather than merely hoped for.

Paul urges believers in Ephesians 4:3 to keep "the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace," and the psalmist calls it "good and pleasant" when people dwell together in unity in Psalm 133:1. New Wine Worship's closing line — "there is power in our unity" — treats that unity as strength, not just sentiment.
