Boundless

Phil Wickham measures divine love in directions that refuse to end. “Boundless” moves from depth to height to width: a love deep enough to enter without finding the bottom, higher than the stars can understand, and broader than the distance between east and west. Each comparison reaches the edge of ordinary imagination and then admits that God’s love goes farther.

The lyric is brief and deliberately repetitive. Rather than developing a story, it stays with one confession until scale becomes worship. Stars and horizons cannot contain what the singer is trying to name, so the recurring word “boundless” carries both wonder and assurance. God’s affection is presented as something to enter, not merely define.

Ephesians 3:18 asks believers to grasp the width, length, height, and depth of Christ’s love. Romans 8:38 declares that nothing in creation can separate believers from God’s love, while 1 John 4:9 shows that love made visible in the sending of the Son. Wickham’s simple images invite trust in a grace larger than fear, distance, or comprehension.
