Isn't He Good

The song builds its case for God's goodness out of a personal before-and-after story. Each line in the opening verses names a condition — lost, sick, dead, bound, desperate — and pairs it with a rescue: found, healed, raised, freed, saved. That pattern of testimony becomes the evidence the chorus points to, asking the listener to look at a changed life rather than argue a doctrine. The repeated questions (good, great, faithful, able, worthy) function less as doubt than as an invitation to agree, and the song answers itself with "Yes He is." A bridge shifts from personal testimony to titles of worship — Mighty God, Jehovah, Holy One, Messiah — and lands on the resurrected King, tying the singer's rescue to the resurrection. The closing section circles on worthiness, repeating the word until it becomes a declaration rather than a question. The song's power is in its simplicity: it doesn't explain how God is good, it just lists what He has done and lets the list speak.
