Jekyll and Hyde

Plumb opens "Jekyll and Hyde" with an unflattering comparison instead of a direct complaint — "you remind me of a cigarette, you burn up slowly and then go out like that, you make it harder for me to breathe" — describing a relationship's effect on her body before naming the relationship itself.

"So why don't you leave me alone, or say you were wrong" offers only two options, both an ending, refusing a third path that lets things continue unchanged. "I don't wanna hide, I need the tears inside to dry, I want more than just to try and love you" admits the current effort isn't enough without pretending it never existed.

"It's not easy for me to be somebody different, somebody else but me" pushes back against being asked to change into someone else entirely, and "you make it look like I am the crazy one here" names a specific pattern of blame-shifting without softening the accusation. The closing lines turn from complaint to condition — "I am willing to forgive, are you willing to take ownership" — making forgiveness contingent on honesty rather than automatic, and "we're only given one chance to live" closes the song treating that condition as urgent, not optional.
