Solace

Plumb spends most of "Solace" cataloging restlessness before any relief arrives — "I'm sick, I'm tired, I can't sleep 'cause I'm so wired... tick tock inside, tossing, turning, I feel blind." The insomnia and physical exhaustion are named specifically rather than standing in for a vaguer emotional description.

"Grab it, kick it, smash it, love it, loathe it, yeah, yeah, hold it, throw it, crave it, searching for my solace" turns the search itself into something almost violent and contradictory — wanting and rejecting the same relief within the same breath. "I tried to find myself a lonely cross to bear, and then tried looking somewhere else, and I failed" admits that both self-reliance and distraction came up empty.

"I looked until my luck ran out, and then I saw your face, you picked me up and brushed me off and said... hey" ends the song on an arrival rather than a resolution — the searching stops not because an answer was reasoned out, but because something showed up.
