Praise (O Come Let Us Adore Him)

Richard Smallwood's recording strips the old Christmas carol down to its final line and lets it stand alone: "O come let us adore Him... Christ the Lord," repeated as a refrain rather than carried by any verses. There's no narrative here, no manger or shepherds — just the invitation itself, sung until it becomes the whole song.

That bareness is the point of a doxology. The line borrows directly from Psalm 95:6 — "come, let's worship and bow down" — and names the reason for it with the same title Luke 2:11 gives the newborn king: "Christ the Lord." Smallwood, recording live in Atlanta, lets the choir's repetition do what a longer lyric would otherwise have to explain.
