From The Corners Of The Earth
Song Meaning
Geography shapes this Starfield anthem. God is "calling out His own" "from every nation," and the title promise, "From the corners of the earth / We will sing of your great worth," gets spelled out later as "north to the south to the east to the west." Revelation 7:9, with its crowd from every nation, tribe and language, is the picture behind it.
Resolve runs through the verses too. The group is "a saved generation / that will not be overthrown," which echoes Jesus's promise in Matthew 16:18 that the gates of Hades will not prevail against his assembly. "We're not backing down, no way," they say, and the verse names why they feel steady: "One body, one church, one savior, / One call to praise," the unity Paul describes in Ephesians 4:4-6.
The second verse sings "for freedom" and "for the reign of God to come," while "the wars we wage are won" through his power rather than theirs. Every chorus lands on the same shout, "Our God Reigns!"
From every nation
God is calling out His own
A saved generation
that will not be overthrown
And we're not backing down, no way
We're finally seeing it clearly
One body, one church, one savior,
One call to praise
[Chorus:]
Hey! From the corners of the earth
We will sing of your great worth
And around the world proclaim
Our God Reigns!
We sing for freedom
For the reign of God to come
For His power through us
As the wars we wage are won
And we're not backing down, no way
We're finally seeing it clearly
One body, one church one savior,
One call to praise
[Repeat Chorus twice]
From the north to the south to the east to the west, we sing
To the one, to the one, to the one who is our King
[repeat 2x]
[Repeat chorus twice]
From the corners of the Earth (corners of the Earth)
we sing (we sing)
From the corners of the Earth (corners of the Earth)
