Daylight arrives as something to dread, midnight waits to drag them back under, and the usual distractions (channel-surfing, turning pages) only waste the hours instead of drying the pain. The song circles a promise of forever that ended at goodbye, leaving the singer begging to move on while secretly wishing they could close their eyes and wake up to find none of it real.
