Release The Sound

Tasha Cobbs Leonard tells three separate Bible stories, each one ending the same way. "The Israelite people rivaled by a wall, but when the people shouted, that wall it had to fall" — a direct reference to Jericho, where Joshua 6:20 records the walls collapsing the moment Israel shouted, no siege weapons involved. "What about Paul and Silas behind the prison walls, but when they started singing, those walls they had to fall" follows the same shape from Acts 16, where an earthquake broke their chains loose mid-worship.

Both stories set up the song's central instruction, repeated as a command rather than a suggestion: "there is a sound that makes walls fall down... I command you, release the sound." The song isn't describing a technique so much as pointing at a pattern — obstacles in Scripture that didn't fall to strategy, but to worship offered before the outcome was visible.

The second half shifts from sound to name: "the crucified Jesus was buried in a tomb, they thought His life was over, but three days revealed the truth... there is a name that makes demons flee." Acts 16:25's picture of prisoners praying and singing at midnight becomes the model for the whole song's final command — release the name, the same way Paul and Silas released the sound.
