For Your Glory

A claim about scope anchors the lyric: “You are the story, beginning and end,” with “every moment in time” in God’s hands. Creation answers with “holy, holy for Your glory,” and the verses add that “even darkness cannot hide Your shining” and “even silence cannot change the truth.”

The refrain makes the argument concrete: “You’re working, You’re moving, in all things You’re using.” It then goes straight to the hard places, picturing God taking “joy in suffering” and making it “an offering.” The closing section turns that into petition, asking that He be “lifted high” in weakness, in the fight, in trial, and “in the waiting, in the fire,” so that no ordinary or difficult moment sits outside worship.

Romans 8:28 underlies the idea of God using all things, Romans 11:36 and Revelation 22:13 match the beginning-and-end language, and the line about not being shaken in the valley recalls Psalm 23:4. The song’s trust rests on who God is rather than on how a season feels.
