The Way We Love

Tim Timmons' "The Way We Love" opens with a claim about identity rather than performance: "the world will know the One we love by the way we love." It's close to Jesus' own words to His disciples — that love for one another is what would actually identify them, not a slogan repeated or a symbol worn.

"Our boxes and bubbles and broad strokes and boundary lines hold us back from seeing each other as God's great design" names a specific obstacle rather than staying abstract — the categories people sort each other into getting in the way of the way of seeing Jesus Himself modeled. "When we stop believing the lies that we're told, will we stop repeating the same old, same old" ties personal change to breaking a cycle, not just feeling differently.

"What if we lay down these stones we're so ready to throw, and we pick up the broken pieces, offer 'em back to Jesus" reframes judgment and restoration as two sides of the same choice. "Love wash over us, hands lifted up, Lord help us, love like the way that You love, so that we can be one" closes the song as a request rather than a resolution — not claiming the work is finished, just asking for help doing it.
