Far From Home (Trailer Version)

Song Meaning

A lone voice sends a raven into the sky, a black bird carrying feathers and bone as a signal that someone is still alive and waiting to be found. The repeated image of the bird with blood on its wings turns the plea urgent — the message has to arrive in time, and the sender hopes the one receiving it will understand what it means. The chorus answers the verses with a plain confession: I'm so far from home, not where I belong. There's no resolution here, only the ache of distance and the fear of being forgotten out in the darkness, beyond the light. The song holds that tension without rushing to comfort, which is what gives it its weight. The raven works as more than decoration; it's the only thread left between the stranded speaker and whoever might still be listening. Even the closing lines keep the same posture — if you get to me too late, at least know that I tried. It reads as a prayer of sorts, a signal sent into silence by someone who hasn't given up on being reached, and the trailer-length version leaves that longing hanging unresolved.

Ohhh, oh-ohh-oh-ohh
Ohhh, oh-ohh-oh-ohh

I'm sending a raven
Black bird in the sky
Sending a signal that I'm here
Some sign of life
I'm sending a message
Of feathers and bone
Just let me know I'm not forgotten
Out here alone

Ohhh, oh-ohh-oh-ohh
I'm so far from home, so far from home
Ohhh, oh-ohh-oh-ohh
Not where I belong, not where I belong
Ohhh, oh-ohh-oh-ohh
I'm so far from home, so far from home

I'm sending a raven
With blood on its wings
Hoping it reaches you in time
And you know what it means
'Cause out here in the darkness
And out of the light
If you get to me too late
Just know that I tried

Ohhh, oh-ohh-oh-ohh
I'm so far from home, so far from home
Ohhh, oh-ohh-oh-ohh
Not where I belong, not where I belong
Ohhh, oh-ohh-oh-ohh
I'm so far from home, so far from home
