O Come All Ye Faithful

Tommee Profitt's setting of "O Come All Ye Faithful" keeps the familiar invitation intact while tightening it into a repeated, almost liturgical refrain. The verses move from the summons to Bethlehem and the command to behold the newborn King of angels, through the choirs of angels singing in exultation and glory in the highest, to the final address to Jesus as the Word of the Father appearing in flesh. What distinguishes this version is the added chorus: "Come and adore Him, come bow before Him," naming Him King of Heaven and Emmanuel, so that adoration becomes the song's steady pulse rather than a single closing line. The bridge shifts the mood from invitation to declaration, pairing "Love has come" with "Peace on earth" and the word Gloria, announcing that the King is here. The language stays largely traditional and hymn-like, with the repetition doing the work of a congregation answering a call. The overall arc is vertical: heaven's citizens and earth's faithful joined in the same posture of bowing, greeting the morning of Christ's birth with glory given to the Word made flesh.
