Song Meaning
VOUS Worship name both extremes directly — "God in the valley... God on the mountain" — refusing to let the song's confidence depend on which one the listener is currently in. "This is my song in the valley, my song in the night" reaches for Psalm 23:4's image of walking "through the valley of the shadow of death" without fear because of who walks alongside.
"This is my Ephraim to Goliath, my final battle cry" names a specific biblical underdog story to frame present difficulty rather than staying generic. "Neither death nor in life, nothing can separate me" lifts Romans 8:38 almost directly, the bridge turning the whole song's valley-and-mountain contrast into one unified claim — nothing in either location actually threatens the thing being held onto.

This is my song in the valley, my song in the night
This is my song in the canyons of my life
This is my song in the battle, my song in the fight
Oh, this is my song when nothing turns out right
You are God in the valley
There's no darkness in Your light, You are with me all the time
God on the mountain
You are always by my side, You are faithful all my life
This is my Ephraim to Goliath, my final battle cry
This is my warning to the giants in my life
This is my melody of defiance, no fear can stop me now
This is the sound of praise arising from the ground
You are God in the valley
There's no darkness in Your light, You are with me all the time
God on the mountain
You are always by my side, You are faithful all my life
Oh, oh-oh, God, You're faithful all my life, oh-oh-oh-oh
In deepest depths, the highest heights, what could separate me?
There's no hiding from Your love
'Cause neither death nor in life, nothing can separate me
I'm convinced You hold my soul
In deepest depths, the highest heights, what could separate me?
'Cause there's no hiding from Your love, oh-oh-oh
'Cause neither death nor in life, nothing can separate me
I'm convinced You hold my soul, oh
Yeah, I'm convinced You hold it all
You are God in the valley
There's no darkness in Your light, You are with me all the time
God on the mountain
You are always by my side, You are faithful all my life
