Avalon starts by confessing a habit rather than condemning someone else's: "I hide me far away from trouble... so I promise to stay here close beside Him." It sounds safe on the surface, but the second half of the verse undercuts it — "reading, how my eyes were opened, I find that He is leading us out into the world."

Their chorus turns that discovery into a mission statement: "come take the Light to darker parts, share His truth with hardened hearts... we are not like the world but we can love it." Avalon keeps interrupting themselves with a pointed question rather than letting the resolve go unchallenged: "if we say we love them, why are we not in it?"

Jesus prays in John 17:14-16 that his followers would stay in the world without belonging to it, sent out rather than withdrawn, and he calls them "the light of the world" in Matthew 5:14-16, a light meant to be seen, not hidden. Avalon's title becomes the whole argument in three words — belonging to the world was never the goal, but neither was leaving it behind.
