Jesus Medley: Jesus Loves Me / 'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus

Avalon's "Jesus Medley" pairs two of the most well-known songs in Christian childhood with a hymn written for grown-up doubt, and lets the second one answer the first. "Jesus loves me, this I know, for the Bible tells me so" states its claim as simply as possible — not an argument, just a fact repeated until it settles.

"Little ones to Him belong, they are weak, but He is strong" echoes the gospel scene where Jesus stops His disciples from turning children away, insisting instead that they come to Him. The song doesn't treat that as a lesson only for kids; it's the starting point the rest of the medley builds on.

"'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus" picks up where the children's hymn leaves off, trading simple assurance for something tested by time: "I'm so glad I learned to trust Thee... how I've proved Him o'er and o'er." The word "proved" matters — not a first-time leap of faith, but trust confirmed by actually leaning on it, verse after verse, until "O for grace to trust Him more" becomes less a request than a habit.
