"You sent a wind, stirred up the ocean, still I rebelled, my heart wasn't open" keeps that identification explicit — this is Jonah's storm, claimed as personal history.

The bridge makes the connection unmistakable: "Holy Spirit help me see where there is Nineveh in me," turning the entire song's historical setting into a mirror. "Christ became the reckoning, in His body bore my sin" answers the opening plea for mercy with the specific mechanism of it, closing the distance between an Old Testament city spared and a New Testament cross that secures the same mercy permanently.
