Love Them Like Jesus

Casting Crowns writes this one from the sidelines of someone else's crisis rather than the center of it — "you're holding her hand, you're straining for words," unsure what to say to a marriage falling apart or, in the second verse, a family losing a baby before it's born. The song's answer isn't a script.

Instead it lowers the bar on purpose: "you don't need the answers to all of life's questions, just know that He loves them and stay by their side." Presence replaces explanation as the actual assignment, which reframes comforting someone as less about having the right words and more about not leaving.

Matthew's "my yoke is easy, my burden is light" gets quoted almost directly in the chorus, and Paul's instruction to weep with those who weep describes exactly the posture the verses picture. His description of God as the source of comfort who equips people to comfort others closes the circle — the song is really asking someone to pass that comfort along.
