Song Meaning
Casting Crowns builds the whole song around John 4's story of the woman at the well, without ever naming her directly. "You can spend your whole life chasing what's missing... when nothing can satisfy, and the world leaves you high and dry, just come to the well" describes her situation before the song ever gets to the invitation Jesus actually gave her.
That invitation shows up almost word for word in the chorus: "all who thirst will thirst no more." John 4:13-14 records Jesus telling her that whoever drinks the water he gives "will never be thirsty again," because it becomes "a spring of water welling up to eternal life" inside the person who receives it — not an external supply that runs out, but a source.
The bridge extends the invitation past thirst into brokenness: "bring me your heart, no matter how broken, just come as you are, when your last prayer is spoken." That's the same posture the well story itself models — Jesus meets the woman in the middle of an ordinary day, mid-chore, without requiring her to clean up first.
