Song Meaning
CeCe Winans opens in a posture of total physical surrender — 'crown to the floor, my face to the ground, love to the core, and I can't make no sound' — before the song's central comparison arrives, borrowed almost word for word from Psalm 84:10's claim that 'a day in your courts is better than a thousand.' The hymn scales that ancient math up even further: not a thousand days elsewhere, but a million miles away, and still no contest.
'You know I believe, so let Your kingdom come' echoes Matthew 6:10's line from the Lord's Prayer, turning personal intimacy with God into the same request Jesus taught his disciples to pray. 'Who could fault you, for sending us away... you showed your right hand, said come with me this way, and I have prepared for you a very special place' reframes an exile or hardship as something that ends in an invitation rather than abandonment — distance in the song is never final, always closing toward the 'one day' the chorus keeps insisting is worth more than any measurable distance.

Crown to the floor, my face to the ground,
Love to the core, and I cant make no sound
Time just fades and I'm lost in your stare.
I'm so amazed. why would I go anywhere, go anywhere.
Better is one day with you
Than a million more, a million miles away.
Better is one day with you.
Than a million more, a million miles away.
Better is one day with you,
Than a million more, a million miles away.
I wanna be with you, gotta be with
I wanna be with you, ouoh, oh oh
I wanna be with you, gotta be with
I wanna be with you, ouoh, oh oh oh oh
Ouoh, oh oh oh oh
Ouoh, oh oh oh oh
Ouoh, oh oh
I'm at rest and my strength is in you,
My heart is set. to journey the trail and love on the truth.
You know I believe , so let your kingdom come.
See the shape in my knees, I'm making space for the one, ...my beautiful one.
Ouoh, oh oh
Who could fault you, for sending us away,
We all have broken hearts, and we all make mistakes
But you showed your right hand, said come with me this way
And I have prepared for you a very special place
I wanna be with you, gotta be with you, wanna be with you oh, oh.
I wanna be with you, gotta be with you, wanna be with you oh, oh.
I wanna be with you. gotta be with you. wanna be with you oh, oh.
Better is one day, one day, one day. than a million more, a million miles away.
Than a million more, a million miles, a thousand miles, a hundred miles, just two miles,
One mile, one week, one day, Its just too far away. its just too far away
[Repeat chorus]
