Sing Over Me

Dunsin Oyekan reorients the whole purpose of the song in its opening lines — "worship is about the song You want to hear, not the one I want to sing... I'm here so You can sing over me." The idea reaches directly for Zephaniah 3:17's picture of God who "will rejoice over you with joy... he will rejoice over you with singing" — worship pictured as receiving a song rather than only offering one.

"I worship in Spirit and Truth" quotes John 4:24 almost directly, Jesus's own answer to the Samaritan woman about what kind of worship God actually seeks. "More than words can say, more than what my mind can grasp" keeps the song's repeated declarations deliberately short — not because there's little to say about God, but because the song treats admitted limitation as more honest than reaching for more elaborate language.
