These things says he who is holy, he who is true,
He who has the key of David, opening the door so that it may be shut by no one, and shutting it so that it may be open to no one.
You are the owner of the key to My Life
You are the final Authority of My Destiny
You are the owner of the key to My Life
You are the final Authority of My Destiny
I put my eyes on You My trust is in you
And I know I will never be ashamed
I put my eyes on You My trust is in you
And I know I will never be ashamed
No power of Hell can temper with your plan for Me
No thoughts of men can change your thoughts for me
No Situation can render your word null and void
Cause you are the master in control
Yes you are the master of my Life
You are the owner of the key to My Life
You are the final Authority of My Destiny
I put my eyes on You My trust is in you
And I know I will never be ashamed
Before you formed You called me by my name
And you named me the apple of your eye
No Situation can render your word null and void
Cause you are the master in control
Yes you are the master of my Life
You are the owner of the key to My Life
You are the final Authority of My Destiny
I put my eyes on You My trust is in you
And I know I will never be ashamed
Owner of The Key
Song Meaning
Elijah Oyelade opens by quoting Revelation 3:7 directly as the song's own epigraph: "he who has the key of David, opening the door so that it may be shut by no one." "You are the owner of the key to my life, You are the final authority of my destiny" restates the verse's claim in first person, naming Christ's authority over something specific rather than leaving it abstract.
"Before You formed You called me by my name" reaches for Jeremiah 1:5's claim, "before I formed you in the womb, I knew you... I have appointed you." "No power of Hell can tamper with Your plan for me" keeps the song's confidence tied to the same authority named in its opening verse — the one holding the key is also the one who determines whether any obstacle actually holds.
