Holy x5

Gungor builds this song around a single repeated word, letting "holy" circle like a refrain until it becomes almost a breathing pattern, paired with the image of everything shimmering with glory "here and now." The middle verses carry the real weight: a first-person voice recalls being told they were broken and unholy in sin, hiding in a garden, hardened and masked, before an awakening in which God calls them forgiven. The turn is sharp and deliberate — not merely cleansed, but never broken to begin with, only ever loved as they are. From there the song widens its claim: all of life is holy, every kind of body, and nothing is missing, including those unseen, lost, or unloved. A striking line pictures God singing to her babies and declaring them worthy by loving everything as is. The theology here leans toward radical acceptance rather than shame, and the repetition of the title phrase functions less as a doctrinal statement than as a practice — an attempt to actually see the sacred in ordinary, present reality. The song ends where it began, still insisting on glory in the here and now.
