Song Meaning

Short and meditative, "Good To Me" begins with a resolution to look for God: "I will seek You, I will find You in the secret place, I will sing of, I will call upon Your holy name." Seeking and finding is the language of Jeremiah 29:13, and the secret place is the shelter of Psalm 91:1.

One line is repeated and becomes the center of the song: "You are good to me." Highlands Worship sings it four times in a row before turning to a second resolution, "I will worship You," also repeated, and "I will bow at Your feet." The goodness named here echoes Psalm 34:8, which invites tasting that the Lord is good.

At about 347 characters, the lyric is very short. It has no verses beyond these few lines and relies on repetition, so it works as a prayer to be sung more than a song to be analyzed.

I will seek You
I will find You in
The secret place
I will sing of
I will call upon
Your holy name

You are good
To me
You are good
To me
You are good
To me
You are good to me

I will worship You
I will worship You
I will worship You
You are good to me

I will bow at Your feet
I will bow at Your feet
I will bow at Your feet
You are good to me
