First Noel (It's All About You)

Influence Music's "First Noel (It's All About You)" keeps the traditional English carol's verses close to the original, narrating the scene from the shepherds' vantage point: "poor shepherds in fields as they lay... on a cold winter's night that was so deep" before the angel's announcement changes everything. The carol doesn't dress up the shepherds' circumstances — they're genuinely poor, genuinely out in the cold, the least likely audience for news that big.

"They looked up and saw a star shining in the east, beyond them far" echoes Matthew's account of the star that led the wise men to Bethlehem, a detail the traditional "First Noel" text keeps even though it technically belongs to a different group of visitors than the shepherds — the carol has always folded both stories into one.

Influence Music's added bridge turns the carol from narration into direct address: "be glorified, how we adore You, be magnified, it's all about You." After several verses spent describing what happened two thousand years ago, the song ends by making clear who all of it was actually for — not a nostalgic Christmas memory, but ongoing worship aimed at the king the shepherds went looking for.
