Paul and Silas gave the same defiant kind of praise from a prison cell at midnight, singing hymns until the earthquake came and the doors flew open. The psalmist's resolve to bless the Lord at all times, not just when it's easy, backs up Fortune's core claim: praising after real hardship isn't performance, it's the honest response to having survived it.
