Let Revival Come (Revive Me)

Joshua Sherman and Kevin Jones move in careful order here — an opening confession of insufficiency ('I don't have much to offer, Holy One'), a statement of security even inside real fear ('even though I walk through the valley, I don't have to fear'), and only then a request for more. Psalm 23:4's shepherd psalm sits directly behind that middle line, treating the presence of fear as compatible with genuine trust rather than proof its absence.

The chorus's ask — 'raise my faith a little higher, set my spirit on fire' — names God specifically as 'the God of Restoration,' and verse two backs that title up with two concrete claims: 'you are the God who calms the sea,' pulling from Mark 4:39's account of Jesus stilling the storm with two words, and 'the same God who healeth me,' extending that same power from weather to body. The repeated bridge, 'revive me with the joy that you bring,' keeps the song's request narrow and specific rather than vague — not just presence in general, but joy in particular, as the thing actually being asked for.
