Song Meaning

Limoblaze opens with pressure named plainly: "hurdles and the troubles everyday now, 'cause where the money face I just dey end now." He names the temptation directly too — a deal he turned down because taking it "means I will turn away from He who died for me." The song isn't hypothetical about the cost of staying faithful; it names an actual offer he refused.

The pre-chorus reaches for one of Scripture's more unusual images: "I'm walking over this bridge, yeah, walking on water, so deep... but I know that my God is with me." Matthew 14:29 records Peter doing exactly that — stepping out of the boat onto the water at Jesus' word — and the song borrows that same combination of real fear ("the hurt and the pain is so real") and real trust, rather than picking one or the other.

Da' T.R.U.T.H.'s verse widens the lens from personal testimony to a whole community: "rise from the trouble, lies in the jungle... hear the cries in the ghetto." Proverbs 3:5's instruction to "trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding" is the thread connecting both verses — two different artists, two different struggles, the same bridge they're choosing to walk across instead of turning back.

Verse 1: Limoblaze

I'm on the way now

Hurdles and the troubles everyday now

'Cause where the money face I just dey end now

But every obstacle is just a bend now

I promise you, I'll keep on pushing

They gave me this deals but I don't want it

If that means I will turn away from He who died for me

Gave his life for me and always guiding me, yeah

Bridge: Limoblaze

Okay, now I'll keep on driving, yeah

The system will not control me, yeah

I believe in Jesus and nothing else

There's light at the end of the tunnel

Okay, now I'll keep on driving, yeah

The system will not control me, yeah

I believe in Jesus and nothing else

There's light at the end of the tunnel

PreChorus: Limoblaze

I'm walking over this bridge, yeah

Walking on water, so deep

The hurt and the pain is so real, yeah

But I know that my God is with me, yeah

I'm walking over this bridge, yeah

Walking on water, so deep

The hurt and the pain is so real, yeah

But I know that my God is with me, yeah

Chorus: Limoblaze & Da’ T.R.U.T.H.

Omalelemale (Wale)

Je kin re aanu (Wale)

When I stand face this mountain make you show me way round the way round (Wale) (Wale)

Omalelemale (Wale)

Je kin re aanu (Wale)

When I stand face this mountain make you show me way round the way round (wale) (Wale) (Yeah, we gon' make it over, yeah)

Verse 2: Da’ T.R.U.T.H.

Rise from the trouble, lies in the jungle

Put us anywhere, we survive in the trouble

Who am I to blame, is it God or the devil?

So much pain from the lies that we peddle

Like ?, hear the cries in the ghetto

Like Mike Tyson, knocked down, but we get up

Same with ?

Jesus alive, so we side with the rebels

And we flip it down deep in the soul, yeah

This progress is the beacon of hope, yeah

The mindset is the people God said ?, reap what you sow

Still dream, so I reach for the light, yeah

Got us coming like a thief in the night, yeah

I see the darkness and it's fading, ?

Chorus: Limoblaze

Omalele male (Wale)

Je kin re aanu (Wale)

When I stand face this mountain make you show me way round the way (Wale) (Wale)

(Wale)

Omaleleale (Wale)

Je kin re aanu (Wale)

When I stomp on this mountain (Wale)

(Wale)

PreChorus: Limoblaze

I'm walking over this bridge, yeah

Walking on water, so deep

The hurt and the pain is so real, yeah

But I know that my God is with me, yeah

I'm walking over this bridge, yeah

Walking on water, so deep

The hurt and the pain is so real, yeah

But I know that my God is with me, yeah
