Not Now Doesn't Mean Never

The chorus makes a careful distinction rather than a vague promise: "if it's not now, it doesn't mean never, it only means there's a time and place that's so much better." The song isn't claiming every prayer gets answered exactly as asked; it's arguing that a delay isn't the same thing as a no.
