The Blood is Still the Blood

Maverick City Music and Chandler Moore build this one around three separate biblical outcasts rather than one general testimony: a leper cast outside the city, a woman with a chronic illness no one could cure, and someone "labeled by shame" the way Mary was before Jesus spoke her name.

Each verse ends the same way regardless of the specific story: "what worked back then, will work again, I know the blood is still the blood." The repetition isn't filler — it's the actual argument, treating ancient healing as evidence for present healing rather than history that stopped happening.

Leviticus' description of a leper forced to live outside the camp, and Mark's account of a woman who'd suffered for years reaching out just to touch Jesus' robe and being healed instantly, both sit behind the verses directly. "It washes white as snow, the Blood can make me whole, it paid the debt I owe" closes the song on the same confidence Isaiah's promise gives — that whatever the specific outcast story, the remedy hasn't changed.
