Cry Out

Maverick City Music, Fresh Start Worship, and Naomi Raine build this one around a single refusal — 'I won't let a rock cry out for me' — treating silence as something the singer is actively choosing not to accept rather than something that might just happen naturally. Luke 19:40's warning that 'if these were silent, the stones would cry out' sits directly behind that line, turned from a warning into a personal vow: whatever else happens, the rocks won't have to do this job instead.

'Loosed all my shackles and set me free' echoes Acts 16:26's account of the prison doors bursting open and everyone's chains loosening at once, applied here as personal testimony rather than a shared historical event. 'Robed me and gave me the victory' and 'I got a reason, a reason to praise' keep circling the same claim from different angles, and the bridge's escalating repetition — 'we're gonna keep on singing... keep on praising' — makes the refusal to stay quiet the song's actual structure, not just its stated theme.
