Hope Changes Everything

NewSong's “Hope Changes Everything” describes a world in a hopeless situation and a response that requires action. The first verse says lives were spinning in a fallen world without hope for change, but heaven heard their cries and that is why Jesus came.

From that point the song turns to the responsibility of those who have received it. It is up to believers to give his love away, to take the hope of Christ, lift it up and hold it high, because hope changes everything. The chorus invites them to take the faith they wear to hurting people everywhere, no matter how dark or troubled someone's life may seem. The singer says he believes with all his heart that hope changes everything. The next verse describes moments of seeing someone who feels helpless or hearing another desperate plea, and being reminded of the place where Christ found him. The line that no one has gone too far for him to reach is the center of the verse. The closing lines say that God has placed an everlasting hope inside each believer, and that it is up to each of them to go. The song suits a missions service, a food drive or any event where a church is sending its members out to serve their neighbors.

The God of hope filling you with joy and peace is Romans 15:13. Letting your light shine is Matthew 5:14-16, and the Son of Man seeking the lost is Luke 19:10.
