Story

Authorship is the song's whole idea: "You wrote my story from beginning to end," the singer says, adding that "nothing surprises You." Rather than treating that as abstract doctrine, the verses test it in a "hopeless chapter" where the question is "Is this how it ends?" The answer is a nudge to "turn the page," because "it's You that holds the pen."

A short refrain does the heavy lifting. "I say yes," repeated three times before the line "You wrote my story," is a response to a calling, not a statement of mood. Later the writer reaches back before birth, to a God who knew "every win, every mistake" and "covered it all in all Your grace," which tracks the language of Psalm 139:16 about days written in advance.

The closing section drops the narrative for a simple vow, "Wherever You lead I'll go," followed by "I don't even have to know / As long You're with me." That willingness to move without a map fits Proverbs 3:5, and the many repeated "yes" lines at the end turn the chorus into an act of agreement the congregation can sing along with.
