Angels From The Realms Of Glory / Emmanuel

Paul Baloche pairs the classic carol "Angels from the Realms of Glory" with a chorus built on the name Emmanuel, drawing the two into one continuous act of worship. The opening verses keep the traditional imagery intact: angels who once sang creation's story are sent out to announce the Messiah's birth, and shepherds keeping watch through the night see the sign that God now dwells with humanity. That line about God residing with man becomes the hinge of the whole song, since the added chorus repeats Emmanuel and names this child as the God who saves. The refrain "come and worship" returns again and again, but the newer material turns it inward, asking Jesus to have his way among the gathered people and welcoming him in directly. A simple declaration follows — God is with us, his love is here — grounding the ancient nativity scene in the present moment of the congregation's singing. The result is less a retelling of Christmas than an invitation to join the angels' announcement and the shepherds' response, ending where the song began: worship offered to Christ the newborn King.
