Heal Our Land

People & Songs and The Slays build each verse around a direct contrast — God's character against the singer's own failure. "You're always selfless, I have been proud... Oh, forgive me" repeats the same structure across several specific confessions before reaching the chorus's request, lifted almost directly from 2 Chronicles 7:14: "I turn from my ways, to seek Your face, and humbly pray, God heal our land."

"The Spirit and the Bride are ready, Lord, we rise and prophesy" reaches for Revelation 22:17's invitation, the same verse quoted directly in Joshua Aaron's "Spirit and the Bride" earlier in this backlog. "Lift up oh ancient gates, fling wide the doors, O King of glory reign" pulls in Psalm 24:7's call for the gates to be lifted so the King of glory can come in, a coronation image used here to close a song that began with confession.
