El Rey De Gloria Entrará

The Levites come back carrying the ark of God, worshiping "con presencia y poder," and the first verse has them closing the temple and singing until the nations can hear. That procession leads straight into the Psalm 24 refrain, "Sean alzadas oh puertas eternas," where the repeated question "Quién es el Rey de Gloria" gets the same answers each time: "El Dios poderoso" and "El fuerte en batalla."

A quieter verse climbs the hill of the Lord, asking who may go up and answering with clean hands, a pure heart, and the humble who will see His face. Once the refrain returns, the last verse moves the scene indoors: "Somos Su templo, El vive aquí," faith brings the Spirit of God, and the King who can save from sin is pictured knocking at the listener's door, wanting to come in.

The Spanish text folds the gate imagery of the psalm together with Paul's temple language and the knocking Christ of Revelation, so the call to open the gates becomes a call to open one's own life. The refrain closes on a plain repeated promise that the King of Glory will enter.
