Petra inverts a familiar phrase in "Falling Up" — "after all those years of falling down, I fell up in the arms of love when I heard Him call." The song keeps the physical sensation of falling while reversing its direction entirely, treating grace as something that catches a person mid-collapse rather than after it.

"He was smiling when he walked up, held a tract out in his hand, then he told me Jesus loved me and said, 'so do I, man'" keeps the conversion story concrete and specific — a street encounter, not an abstract spiritual awakening. "Right there in the street we prayed" locates the moment plainly, without dressing it up.

"Sometimes I start to fall down just like any other man, but His arms are there to catch me and lift me up again" admits the pattern still repeats even after conversion, and "now, falling up to heaven" closes the song by extending the same image all the way to its final destination.
