I Will Celebrate / When The Spirit Of The Lord

Petra builds this medley almost entirely out of repetition rather than developing verses, opening with a direct quote of the Psalms' own instruction: "I will celebrate, sing unto the Lord, I will sing to Him a new song."

"When the Spirit of the Lord moves in my heart, I will sing like David sang" names its model specifically rather than leaving the comparison vague — not generic worship, but David's particular, unguarded example.

"I will dance like David danced" points directly at the moment David danced before the Lord with all his might, bringing the ark into Jerusalem without concern for how it looked. "I will pray like David prayed" closes the medley on the same note, treating David's whole pattern of uninhibited response — singing, dancing, praying — as something worth imitating rather than just admiring from a distance.
