God Of Miracles
Song Meaning
Praise turns into surrender within the first few lines of Planetshakers' "God of Miracles." The opening borrows the old cry "Blessed be the Lord, oh my soul," then moves straight to a handoff of control: "Lord you are my God, take control. To you I give my life."
A short middle section names why. "It's you who heals and forgives," the singer says, and follows with a personal confession, "Jesus I believe." The chorus then widens that into a title claim, "You are the God of miracles, You're the God that makes me whole," and pledges to worship in response rather than ask for anything new.
The song ends on a repeated line of longing, "My soul longs for you," sung four times without elaboration. Psalm 103:1-3 stands behind the opening and the healing and forgiveness language, Psalm 63:1 behind the thirst of the closing lines, and Thomas' confession in John 20:28 behind the plain declaration of belief in Jesus.
Blessed be the Lord, Oh my soul
Lord you are my God, take control
To you I give my life
God its yours
Blessed be the Lord
Blessed be the Lord
It's you
Who heals and forgives
It's you
Jesus I believe
You are God, you are the God of miracles
You're the God that makes me whole
I will worship
I will worship you
My soul longs for you
My soul longs for you
My soul longs for you
My soul longs for you
