Joy

Planetshakers quote Psalm 30:11 almost without alteration: "You turned my mourning into dancing... I can smile again." The psalm's original testimony, written after real illness or danger, gets carried into the song's chorus as a present experience rather than only a remembered one.

"Make a joyful noise unto Him" lifts Psalm 100:1's instruction directly, and "You've turned my sadness into gladness, You've turned my sorrow into joy" keeps repeating the same reversal from different angles rather than moving on to new content. "A joy that won't stop and will never leave" distinguishes the song's claim from a temporary mood — not happiness contingent on circumstances, but something described as durable regardless of them.
