Set Me Ablaze

Kingdom language frames “Set Me Ablaze” before the fire arrives. Planetshakers begin with the desire to see God’s kingdom come and His Son’s glory “shining bright on everyone,” then name an “eternal flame / Burning brighter than the sun” that brings hope to everyone, so the request is tied to others from the outset.

The prayer then narrows to a plain, repeated ask. “For my generation Lord / I am crying out for more,” the singer says, and what is sought is fire, power, and the Spirit’s presence: “Come and fill me with Your fire.” A short section shifts from burning to pouring, with “Pour out Your Spirit” and “Fill me again,” and the closing images of being filled up and “running over” are marked for repetition.

Because the text repeats rather than develops, it works as a sustained prayer more than an argument. Acts 2:3 and Luke 3:16 supply the fire imagery of Pentecost and baptism in the Holy Spirit, and Ephesians 5:18 the call to be filled.
