Healing

Riley Clemmons starts past the breaking point rather than inside it: "saw the end of the tunnel... got so used to the dark I was scared of what the light would do now." The verses are specific about what didn't work — "I couldn't piece me back together with some bandaids and a roll of tape" — before naming what did: "it just took a leap of faith."

The second verse adds grace rather than willpower as the turning point: "gave myself some grace, and my soul began to feel the change... I let love flood my heart like the sun upon a tear-stained face." The chorus's repeated "I'm here unashamed, I found strength through the pain" reframes the wound itself as the place strength showed up, not something healing erased.

Psalm 147:3's "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds" and Isaiah 61:3's "ashes" turned to a "garland," "mourning" to "the oil of joy" both sit behind the song's own language of what was broken standing again. Clemmons never names who's doing the healing, but the shape of the recovery she describes is the one scripture keeps describing too.
