Riley Clemmons opens by naming a change other people have noticed before she explains it: "if something's different about me, you spin a switch in my demeanor... I found my life when I found grace that is amazing." The song doesn't argue for the change — it just states it happened and moves straight into what it feels like from the inside.

What follows is a specific description of relief rather than triumph: "a weight off my shoulders, no longer something missing... watching my walls falling down." Romans 5:8 explains why that weight lifted in the first place — "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" — love extended before any cleanup happened, not after.

The hook's most striking line reframes the singer's own self-criticism: "I got scars but You call 'em beautiful, 'cause I've been looking at my skin, but You've been looking at my soul." That's the same gaze Zephaniah 3:17 describes — God rejoicing over his people "with singing," not despite the scars but without needing them explained away first.
