The question is asked plainly, without pretending the tiredness isn't real.

"Oh, I need a sanctuary, where I can just be, where I can find peace, patiently wait in the silence and listen" defines the sanctuary being asked for in specific terms — not an escape from responsibility, but a place to actually hear something rather than just recover. "Escape the madness of life" names what's being fled without dramatizing it further.

"Why, why, why can it be so hard to find peace for my soul, rest in this life" repeats the frustration honestly rather than answering it with a tidy resolution, leaving the song's closing request — to hear "what You're trying to say to me" — as still unmet but still being asked.
