Stronger

Skillet's "Stronger" builds its case on a repeated, almost confrontational question: "Ask who I am." The answer arrives in layers — first a claim of hidden identity beneath skin, then a declaration of being sent to rule on Earth, then a startling admission that the speaker "wrecks" things through prayer. That tension between human frailty and divine authority runs through the whole track. The chorus is blunt and unadorned, insisting the singer is stronger than the devil, repeated until it becomes a mantra rather than a statement. The second verse names the opposition directly: fear that tries to seize, flesh that pulls, darkness pressing in from every side. Against that, the only counterweight offered is the repeated line that God is strong, followed by an image of all creation watching for Him to arrive. There is no resolution or quiet ending — the song closes by hammering the word "stronger" into the ground, refusing to soften its claim. It reads less like a testimony of personal virtue and more like a declaration of borrowed power, where the singer's confidence rests entirely on the strength of the God being invoked rather than on anything the singer possesses.
