There's No Other Name

The McClures' “There's No Other Name” builds its case in two verses of short, concrete claims. The first is about creation: “Your singing moves and shakes the ground / Your beckon brings the rain in drought,” and the earth itself spins on God's glory. The second turns to Jesus's ministry, where “Your word commands the wind and waves / Your touch revives the sick and lame / Your power wakes the dead again.”

All of it feeds a chorus that works as a statement of belonging: “There's no other name / The Name that stands through the ages.” One line in the second verse carries the weight, “Your love destroys the grip of sin,” and the song repeats it before moving on. Near the end the writing leaves description for a promise, with “Every knee will bow / Every tongue confess / The Name of Jesus,” sung twice as if to let it settle.

That closing section comes from Philippians 2:10-11, where every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord. The title's claim of one name echoes Acts 4:12, which says there is no other name under heaven by which people must be saved.
