Come Together

Third Day's “Come Together” is a rock song that begins with the singer admitting people may call him crazy for what he is about to say. He tells listeners they can laugh all they want, because he knows a day will come when everyone will come together and learn to set aside hate.

The chorus is the plea in the title. The band says that if people could learn to love their neighbors as they love themselves, they could make it in the end, brave the weather and the storms, and learn to love. The second verse calls him a dreamer but insists the dreams will come true, and says he is a firm believer in what people can do if they come together and let the Lord lead the way. There is nothing they cannot do or face. The bridge looks further ahead to the day when the Lord will call his own away to a place he has made for all of them. The song takes a social theme, division among people, and frames it with the church's hope of Christ's return.
