Because of Who You Are

This song is built on three of God's covenant names, each drawn from a specific Old Testament naming moment rather than used decoratively. "Jehovah Jireh, my provider" comes from Genesis 22:14, where Abraham names the place of God's provision after the ram appears in place of Isaac. "Jehovah Nissi" comes from Exodus 17:15, where Moses builds an altar after Israel's victory over Amalek and names it "the LORD is my banner." "Jehovah Shalom" comes from Judges 6:24, where Gideon builds an altar and calls it "the LORD is peace" after God calms his fear. The refrain — praising God "because of who You are" rather than for anything received — reflects that each of these three names was itself a response to a specific moment of provision, victory, or peace, turned into a permanent title.
